WorldSkills Australia is a social enterprise that has a purpose to identify, demonstrate, promote, and grow the excellence of Australia’s skills development. A not-for-profit organisation, we are a united voice for skills excellence in vocational, technological, and service oriented careers in Australia. We recognise that the vocational education and training sector is central to Australia’s economic growth, productivity, and future employment outcomes. We have a long and successful history of supporting young Australians to excel in their trade or skill by encouraging them to take part in WorldSkills events and test their skills against their peers at Australia’s most prestigious skills excellence competitions. We are unashamedly about excellence and since 1981, more to 100,000 apprentices and trainees have taken part in WorldSkills Australia activities with many going on to become leaders and key influencers in industry, small business owners and educators. In addition, during the past 40 years, thousands of industry experts and education professionals have enjoyed professional and personal development by volunteering their time and resources to support, train and mentor the apprentices and trainees taking part in WorldSkills competitions regionally, nationally, and internationally.
