Hi friends!
I am taking on a personal challenge to run the Great Ocean Road Half Marathon May 19. I want to take on this personal challenge whilst making a difference for a cause that's close to my heart personally and professionally; closing the Indigenous Literacy Gap. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
I'm fundraising for the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF). ALNF is a registered national charity dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia, specifically targeting Indigenous, refugee and marginalised communities. Their community driven literacy programs in English and Indigenous First Languages empower local educators and community members to teach their children to read and write, and transform literacy and education outcomes.
It costs $120 to train an Indigenous mentor to provide support to primary school children, therefore I am aiming to fundraise enough for a new mentor for every km run, totalling $2,640.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to ALNF.

ALNF’s specialised and innovative programs address the needs of a diverse range of individuals and communities – specifically targeting First Nations, refugee and other vulnerable Australians.
ALNF believes that all Australians have the right to literacy, because being able to read and write is the key to accessing education and employment, and to participating fully in society. It is a basic human right.
