Hi there!
Thanks for joining the David Jones' fundraising effort to make literacy a reality for all Australian Children. You just need to click on “Join Team”. Once you click on “Join Team” you’ll have to click on “Register/Create Page” to start the process of setting your fundraising page.
The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) is a registered national charity dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia, specifically targeting Indigenous, refugee and marginalised communities. Their community driven literacy programs in English and Indigenous First Languages empower local educators and community members to teach their children to read and write, and transform literacy and education outcomes.
We (David Jones) have supported ALNF’s Early Language and Literacy program in Taree, Western Sydney and, most recently, Kenmore Park in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
Having seen first-hand the impact of ALNF’s programs on the ground, we are proud to have contributed over $340k to help consolidate and expand ALNF’s work.
David Jones is supporting ALNF’s Literacy is Freedom campaign to raise funds and shine a light on the vital role that literacy plays in an individual’s life. For those of us that have never struggled with illiteracy, it’s difficult to comprehend how literacy impacts almost every aspect of our lives. Heath, wellbeing, education, safety, success, employment and independence are all connected to being able to read, write and communicate.
We are now in our fourth year of supporting ALNF, as we work together to help close the Indigenous literacy gap.
