Story
Dear Friends,
Whilst in Nepal last year I spent two months trekking and ice climbing in the Himalayas. After climbing two peaks next to Everest I developed a passion for mountain climbing and dreamt to one day summit the world’s highest mountain, Mt Everest. In February 2014 I will return to Nepal and set out on an expedition to the top of the world. The expedition requires two months acclimatization at base camp before I begin the ascent. The summit push will take about 6 days of ice climbing. This summer I will begin a rigorous training program designed for the climb.
The Nepalese people are some of the kindest and happiest people I have ever met. Unfortunately many of the Nepalese children simply don’t have the opportunities which we are blessed with. When I volunteered at a Nepalese orphanage in Kathmandu I saw too many children growing up without the fortune of an education or vitally important healthcare.
Please help me raise $10,000 for the Australian Himalayan Foundation. They are a charity working to help the people of the Himalaya through improvements in health, education and conservation in Nepal, the Indian Himalaya and Bhutan. They work in partnership with local communities to help the people of the Himalaya in a long term, sustainable way. By supporting the AHF we can change the lives of these children.
