Yard Duty
Yard Duty
Story
Hello friends and fellow 80s/90s nostalgiaheads!
From 16-18 June, some of your mates in Yard Duty (Jay, Nath, Tommy F. Bravo, Sickle and Daria Helenadorffer) are undertaking a massive 40 hour 90s TV marathon to raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, a national book industry charity, which aims to reduce the disadvantage experienced by children in remote Indigenous communities across Australia, by lifting literacy levels and instilling a lifelong love of reading.
We will be watching great 90s shows like Round The Twist, Rocko's Modern Life, CatDog, A*Mazing, Ducktales and more! It's a huge undertaking, but with your donations (coupled with some great snacks and possibly a few hundred energy drinks), we can succeed and raise a shedload of cash for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
We're asking you to donate a contribution, no matter how big or small, to the ILF through this secure site. Our aim is to raise $1,000, but we'd be absolutely stoked to raise any amount of money for this important cause.
For some of our big donors, we will have some great prizes and giveaways over the course of the weekend too!
We will be streaming some of our marathon on Facebook Live, as well as constant updates via our Twitter (@yard_duty), Instagram (@yard.duty) and Facebook (yard.duty.90) pages.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!

Indigenous Literacy Foundation
Being able to read opens so many doors. But in very remote Indigenous communities, books are all too scarce and literacy levels are much lower than anywhere else in Australia. Our purpose is to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous families by not only gifting thousands of new culturally appropriate books - with a focus on early literacy and first language - but also by running programs to inspire the communities to tell and publish their own stories.
Please visit our website for more information about our programs.
