Hi everyone!

In just under a month myself, mum, and 4 friends are walking to Mt Everest Base Camp. This will be such an amazing yet challenging experience and something that will be hugely eye opening to all of us. We have all been training hard, ready to endure some tough terrain, high altitude and very long days of walking (7-9hrs a day for 9-12 days!!). 

For those who don’t know, when I was 1 and a half I unexpectedly lost my dad to an accident while he was in the line of work as a firefighter. Dad was an avid mountaineer and was extremely passionate about helping children less fortunate and in need. Mum and Dad worked very closely with Youth Off The Streets for many years, and also ran an outdoor adventure company in the Blue Mountains which saw many kids from this organisation learn all sorts of outdoor activities including canyoning and camping. 

Dad always had a dream to summit Mt Everest (which I believe he would’ve), however unfortunately never had the chance. Although we aren’t attempting to summit, we are looking forward to going to Base Camp, which will be challenging enough! I hope to make my dad proud in doing this trek.
