Story
We are a group of second-year Doctor of Optometry students from The University of Melbourne. This August, we are fundraising for the Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA).
Approximately 1.9 million Australians are estimated to have macular disease. Our goal is to achieve 1.9 million steps as a team. Additionally, we plan to hold a fundraiser event. Our goal is to fundraise as much as we can in the month of August, through both donations to individual team members, as well as donations to us as a team.
We are using this GoFundraise site to streamline our donations. Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to MDFA. Every cent counts and we couldn't do it without you :)

Macular disease is the leading cause of severe vision loss and blindness in Australia.
Our purpose is to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease through leadership in prevention and early detection, disease management, advocacy, and research. We work collaboratively and in partnership with our community, health professionals, researchers, and government to minimise the impact of macular disease
