Story
It’s hard to believe that in the early decades of the 21st century people are still dying for want of clean water. One billion people are without access to safe water supplies and everyday millions walk miles just for something to drink.
In developing countries, people can spend five hours a day on average walking to collect clean water, leaving them little time to do much else. You can imagine the impact this has on families. Children are unable to go to school and adults can't look after their crops or families.
So, on the 16th of September Carlson Marketing Australia are doing ONE GOOD THING to raise awareness and money for the ONE foundation.
What: The ONE WALK
Where: From Parramatta Park to Pyrmont
Why: 25 km = The average time it takes someone inAfrica to collect fresh drinking water.
When: Friday 16th September 2011

The One Foundation (Global Ethics Australia)
The One Foundation Australia funds like-for-like projects in developing countries. Currently, we're funding water projects in Cambodia. In addition to your donations, we receive 100% of the profits from the sale of One Water in Australia.
Until 2011, we funded water projects in Africa called PlayPumps. They're like roundabouts which pump water from the ground as children play on them. In 2012, we have moved to fund water projects in Asia. Our first programme in Asia is in Cambodia. All projects are located where they are needed most by the community, allowing for ongoing sustainable water solutions, whilst helping to ensure families have access to safe water, don't get sick and are able to get an education and work.
Since One began in 2005, over A$11m has been donated to like-for-like projects in developing countries, positively changing the lives of over 2 million people. Every donation received by The One Foundation Australia will be used for life-changing water projects.
