Story
Hi there!
I'm raising money for Community First Development, by accepting the challenge to shave my head.
Community First Development is an Indigenous run organisation that works with Indigenous communities to run and develop projects which they have decided are important. The activities communities chose include care for country, early childhood education, improved health systems and much more.
Closing the gap between the quality of life and opportunities in life for non-Indigenous and Indigenous communities is something that governments have struggled to improve for decades. One really important part of its success is Indigenous communities setting their own priorities and driving the process of development and leadership, on their terms. It is evident that there is great talent and leadership in First Nations communities, that is valuable for all Australians.
I’d appreciate any contribution you feel you are able to make.

Our vision is for an Australia where all Australians live in harmony and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people share the same rights, respect and access to opportunities and rewards, and where their culture is valued and recognised as an asset to Australian society. Community First Development is invited by communities to help them overcome disadvantage. Our role is to support communities with skills and resources not normally available to them. We do this with the enthusiasm and dedication of volunteers from all walks of life, from child care to construction, medicine to manufacturing, and gardening to grant-writing.
