Story
Hi there!
I'm making a difference and climbing for a cause that's close to my heart. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Constable Nathan EDMUNDS has worked for the NSW Police Force for a number of years, Stationed at Macquarie Fields. He has a wife, and Child Bailey. Bailey currently suffers from severe Autisim and we are fundraising in aim to raise enough funds for the NSW Police Legacy, on behalf of the Edmunds Family to assist Bailey with his needs associated with his Autisim.
Bailey was diagnosed with a severe form of Autisim and requires a number of services in order to help him live a full life within the community. Bailey is only 8 years of age and currently attending his first year of school. Bailey requires an Autistic Dog. These dogs can dramatically enhance the quality of life of Bailey. This dog allows the autistic child to make a special connection with their own smart pup and allows them to feel safe, calm and gain understanding. With this dog residing with them and going everywhere the autistic child goes, allows the child to cope with internal and external interactions. The Smart Pups are able to perform the following roles; Tethering, tracking, behaviour disruption, positive social interactions and a calming presence.
My partner Paul and I are currently employed with the NSW Police Force. In August 2014 we are challenging ourselves and aim to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. This is a mental, emotional and physical challange that not a lot of people have completed. Our aim is to get to the peak on our 5 days trek. As part of this we are climbing for NSW Police Legacy on behalf of Bailey and the Edmunds Family to help raise some much needed funds for this family to assist with Bailey's needs. Mount Kilimanjaro towers 5,895 m above sea level and is one of the most beautiful and accessible mountains to climb. We are climbing the mountain over 5 days and require your donations and sponsorships to help get us to the top of the mountain and raise the much needed funds for the Edmunds Family.

The Trustee For NSW Police Legacy
NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. Established in 1987 it was initially founded to support the bereaved families following the loss of their loved one. Now, our support extends to include police officers and their families experiencing challenging times in their lives. Our police family has grown to include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing misfortune that require extra support. Our committment is to build on the care and support of serving and retired police officers and their families during times of tragedy and need with financial assistance, emotional support and networking opportunities so they are never forgotten. http://www.policelegacynsw.org.au/
