Story
Help me reach my goal of raising $10,000 to support people living with dementia and raise awareness in the local community!
My name is Mick Simpson, and I am living with Lewy Body Dementia.
Last year I walked over 29kms from Echuca to Kyabram via Tongala in my first Dementia Walk. The walk was a great success while promoting awareness and understanding of dementia in regional towns.
This year I am back to do it all again, but this time bigger than ever!
The walk will take place over 5 days from the 9th to the 13th of November 2020.
The walk will be over 90 kms from Cobram to Kyabram via Strathmerton, Nathalia and Wyuna. We will also be hosting Dementia talks along the way, supported by amazing locally Lions clubs and community groups.
Starting Breakfast and Cobram Dementia Talk
9th November, 7:30am - 10am
Federation Park (Lions Park), Cobram
Nathalia Dementia Talk
11th November, 7:30am-9:45am
Riverside Park, Nathalia (Walk will continue after Remembrance Day).
Finishing Lunch and Kyabram Dementia Talk
13th November, 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Remembrance Gardens, Kyabram
Please join me in bringing awareness and understanding to these great towns, and help me reach my ambitious goal of $10,000. If you can spare a morning or an afternoon, you could walk with me into or out of one of these great towns? Or could you attend one of our information session to learn more about dementia?
Would you donate to my page, and tell a friend about my goal?
I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
The funds I raise help support vital services such as:
- Operation of the National Dementia Helpline where people can talk to caring and experienced professionals;
- Living with Memory Loss Programs where people can obtain information and talk confidentially with others in a similar situation;
- Library and information services which provides access to dementia-related consumer health
information and services;
- Providing Carer Support Groups in metropolitan and regional areas;
- Assisting many in time of need with our educational seminars, workshops and programs;
- Dementia Australia’s vital work is funded entirely by amazing supporters like you!
Thanks so much for your support!
