Matt Esler - Mt Kilimanjaro Challenge
Matt Esler - Mt Kilimanjaro Challenge
Story
Dear Friends and Family,
Next Saturday 20th December I will commence my climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in the world at an altitude of 5,895 metres above sea level. The climb to the summit takes 5 days battling changing environment (from tropical jungle at the base to snow and freezing at the summit) - it's going to be a massive challenge but I am also climbing for a great cause - CCSVI Australia - supporting those facing a battle of their own - Chronic Cerebro Spinal Venous Insufficiency.
So for all the doubters (there are many and you know who you are!) and for the believers (the very few of you), it's your chance to put your money where your mouth is and donate generously to this and great cause.
Have a safe Christmas and happy New Year.
See you all soon (I hope)
Matt Esler
MS Hope (CCSVI Australia Inc)
Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) is a condition where blood flow in the brain and spine is impaired due to a blockage in one or more of the major veins. CCSVI is implicated in a number of neurodegenerative conditions including Multiple Sclerosis.
Whilst treating CCSVI is not a cure for MS, treating blocked veins can bring real symptomatic improvements. There is great potential that research could unlock further understanding of Multiple Sclerosis as a whole.
