Story
Domestic violence can happen to anyone. It affects people from all income and education levels.
It is confusing for the victims and comes in many forms. Victims are often unaware of the seriousness of their situation until it is too late.
It is important to me to stand up and speak out about domestic violence. Breaking the silence is a way of helping victims. It takes buckets of courage to get out of a bad situation and it can be overwhelming and complicated to navigate without the support of friends, employers and specialist agencies.
My journey to Black belt in Taekwondo in December 2017 is challenging however I have support of family, friends, teachers (and massage therapists for very sore muscles!). I am very lucky to be on this chosen journey.
I am dedicating my training for a BLACK BELT to the WHITE RIBBON foundation for victims of domestic violence in need of courage and support through their difficult journeys.
I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.

White Ribbon Australia is a unique male-led primary prevention organisation that works to stop violence against women. All forms of violence are unacceptable. White Ribbon is working to prevent the most common and pervasive form of male violence – that towards women. White Ribbon believes the prevention of violence against women will change society for the better.
White Ribbon believes in the capacity of the individual to change and to encourage change in others. It believes that our generation can and must work towards stopping violence against women so that all women can live in safety, free from violence and abuse.
Through an annual awareness campaign and primary prevention initiatives, White Ribbon works to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to violence against women.
