On Sunday the 6th of November. I will be walking from Moss Vale Memorial Clock to Mittagong Memorial Clock to raise funds for Stewart House.

Stewart House

 For 90 years, Stewart House has been a haven for disadvantaged public-school children from right across NSW and ACT. We are the only facility of our kind in Australia. What is remarkable about this is that we are a not-for-profit organisation, originally established in 1931 when staff of the NSW Department of Education and the Teachers Federation identified a need to care for children who were suffering through the Great Depression.

  Every year 1,600 public-school children identified by their school principal as 'in-need" attend our haven next to Sydney's Curl Curl beach at no cost to their parents or carers. These children encounter disadvantages that no child should experience. During a 12 day stay, they are provided with dental, optical, hearing and medical screening and treatment. 

Children participate in educational programs and excursions designed to develop their social and emotional skills, build self-esteem, and improve overall well-being. This experience provides children with a much-needed break from their current circumstances. Our children are inspired to see beyond the present and to have real hope and positive aspirations for their future.
