Story
HELP ABORIGINAL & TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER CHILDREN ACCESS EDUCATION
Access to high quality early education holds the greatest potential for improved outcomes for children.
Sadly, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids are 2.5 times as likely as other children to be developmentally disadvantaged when they start school. Providing them with access to quality early childhood education is one way to help address this issue.
Not for Profit, KU Children’s Services, a leader in early childhood education, is committed to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children do not get left behind.
In September, we will be completing a 120 km, six-day Larapinta trek in Central Australia. We are dedicating this endeavour to strengthen opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to succeed now and in the future by:
• Improving access to early education
• Providing culturally safe and positive learning experiences
• Supporting the development of career pathways that increase the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the early education sector.
