KiloTango - Drive For Daniel

Story

 KiloTango - Drive For Daniel

The Route: London to Ulan Bator, Mongolia

The Distance: 10,000 miles / 17,000 kilometres (approx).

The Rules: Car engine capacity of less that 1200cc and NO support crew. The route is decided by the team. There are NO safety checkpoints and NO bail out if you get lost, bogged, robbed etc.

The Start Date: 14 July 2013 (ETA 6 weeks later)

The Drivers: Twin brothers, Tim & Kelvin Evans

The Car: Red Suzuki 2005 Alto 1.1 litre (appropriately unsuitable for two strapping lads & the awaiting terrain - well, they are the rules!)

The Charity: Daniel Morcombe Foundation

The Goal: $5000 (we only need 100 people to donate just $50 each, surprisingly this is harder than it sounds - we need your help!)

Childhood innocence is precious. Whether you are a Parent, Grandparent, Aunt or Uncle, a rally enthusiast, an adventurer or a twin yourself, we ask you think about the little people in your life and make a donation to continue the important education program provided by Daniel’s Foundation.

Daniel Morcombe was just 13 years old when he was abucted and murdered on 7 December 2003, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. His parents, Bruce and Denise, have honored their son’s memory with some phenomenal achievements in the 10 years since they lost their precious son. Their tireless contribution to child saftey education has been recognised by the State Government of Queensland. For more information about this inspiring family go to www.danielmorecombe.com.au

Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc.

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation is committed to ‘Keeping Kids Safe.’ It was established by parents Bruce and Denise Morcombe (2012 Queensland Australians of the Year) in 2005 after their son Daniel was abducted and murdered in December 2003 while waiting to catch a bus on the Sunshine Coast. As a lasting legacy to Daniel the foundation was created with two main aims; to educate children on how to stay safe in a physical and online environment and to support young victims of crime.

The Foundation continues to deliver a number of unique resources and life skills that empower children and adults to stay safe.

It provides financial support to child victims of crime and their families with direct and often, urgently needed assistance to help get their lives back on track.

Each year on the last Friday in October, the foundation conducts its national day of action, Day for Daniel.
