Kate's New York Marathon!
Kate's New York Marathon!
Story
Thanks for supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation!
I'm off to NY in November to explore, take photographs of her (NY is female after all!) and to sit in Central Park and enjoy the silence!
It's running time again! And what a perfect opportunity to do what I've always wanted to do - run around Central Park!! Thought I might throw in a marathon too! (well, a marathon with a difference for us non-marathon types!)
"The marathon is a long-distance (very long!) running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (far out!!) that is usually run as a road race. The first New York City Marathon, in 1970, was four-plus laps of Central Park (now, that's a big park!)".
I'll be in NY for 8 days so I'm going for it! My official distance will be 42.195 km's, but I'll run it over 8 days...still a big ouch! That's about 5.3 km's a day (give or take a few Cosmopolitan nights which may lead to 10km's a day!) Of course, I'll post photos of my training progress & all the action from New York!
Again, thanks for supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation!

Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
Established in 2000, The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is Australia’s leading independent funder of ovarian cancer research, dedicated to transforming outcomes for the most lethal gynaecological cancer.
In Australia, fewer than 50 percent of women and girls diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive more than five years - a figure unchanged for decades, highlighting disparities and gender inequities in research and care that demand urgent action.
OCRF is rewriting this story. Our vision is a future where those impacted by ovarian cancer can live healthy, vital lives. To achieve this, we are catalysing change and accelerating progress by increasing awareness, advocating for greater investment and equity, collaborating nationally and internationally, and strategically funding high-impact medical research.
Every dollar we raise comes from the Australian community, driven by a shared determination to make our vision a reality.
