Story
I'm really keen to do my bit for disadvantaged women, particularly Indigenous women, living in remote areas of Australia by raising awareness and money for SYM Enterprises.
Based in Bourke NSW, SYM Enterprises is a new venture involving a group of talented young mothers aged 15 to 25, all of whom left school early to have children.
The women participate in CentaCare’s Strong Young Mums program where they are supported to return to education and develop their parenting skills. With the creation of SYM Enterprises, the mothers are now also developing the skills and knowledge needed to generate their own income to support their young families by making children's clothes and other creative activities.
All the money raised will be used to purchase sewing machines and equipment that can be used by the participants throughout this vast area of NSW.

Centacare’s mission is to empower individuals, families and communities in western NSW, by enhancing social and emotional well-being and strengthening networks of support. In particular Centacare works with young families to enhance the developmental opportunities of their children, and with at- risk young people, supporting them to stay at school, engage in vocational training and employment. 50% of the people supported by Centacare are Indigenous. www.centacarewf.org.au
