Walking the Talk
Walking the Talk
Story
Hey everyone,
About 8 months ago Tom Keaney and myself (Harrison Taylor) came up with the idea of walking the Australian Alpine Walking Track, from Canberra to Walhalla (2.5 hours East of Melb.), planning on doing 670km in about 35 days. At first we primiarily thought about this adventure as a personal/physical challange for ourselves, however recently we have realized that we wanted to add a little more meaning to the trip and perahps even use it as a way to raise some funds for something more important than our own personal ambitions.
So we have chosen to support youth mental health through the organisation, 'headspace'. We figured that we have all been through seriously rough patches in our lives, and we have been able to get through these times because of our amazing support from family and friends, however not everyone has access to this sort of support, that's why we hope to raise (even if its a little) money for kids who are just like us, but who do not have the same support that we do. Believe it or not but suicide is actually the biggest killer of young Australians today, accounting for more deaths than car accidents, headspace is striving to reduce this with ealry intervention, and we hope to help.We would really appreciate any contribution, big or small.
(Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice).
Thanks so much for your support! :)
