Story
Hello friends,
Education is such an important part of life and is key for the development of children. In the earthquakes of April/May 2015 a large number of schools in Nepal were destroyed. Temporary schools have been built from bamboo and other temporarily appropriate materials, however this is not a long term solution, new schools need to be built.
Friends of Nepal Association (FONA) has an Education Centre Project with the aim to build a model school which will be an educational centre of excellence delivering high quality education for children and adults living in rural districts in Nepal.
At the end of March I’m going to Nepal to do the Manaslu trek. Mount Manaslu is the 8th highest mountain in the world and I will be trekking for 16 days at a high altitude! I’m doing this to support FONA, to raise funds to build the model education centre and also as a personal challenge (did I mention it is 16 days of walking?).
I’d appreciate any contribution you can make, big or small. It would mean a lot to me and even more to the children in Sindhuli who are in desperate need of a school.
