Story
Hello Friends,
I am making my final preparations for my trip to Cambodia. I leave March 31 and arrive in Siem Reap the following day. I am excited and a little scared too. Embarking on a solo adventure is a bit daunting, but I feel in my hear tthat this is the right path for me. So I am leaving it up to the gods and universe to lead me in the right direction. I really don't know exactly what I'll be doing at New Hope Cambodia. I'll work closely with Jody Bonar, the Clinic Manager, and spend time with the doctors. They are especially interesed in treatment of sexually transmitted infections. My work as a Nurse Practitioner has prepared me well for this.
New Hope, with the assistance of sponsors and volunteers and your donation, treats up to one hundred residents each day for burns, wounds, salmonella poisoning, infections and illnesses such as malnutrition, HIV, hepatitis, typhoid, tuberculosis and dengue fever.
Each month, families in need receive food packages and New Hope provides free education to six hundred children and young adults. New Hope also plays an active role in the fight against human and sex trafficking.
Your generous support warms my heart and I want to thank you so very much. I am half way to my goal of $4000.
I will return to the States on May 1, 2015. While I am in Cambodiia, I will keep in touch via Facebook and personal emails. Meanwhile, check out the two New Hope Cambodia Videos below.

Mondul 3 is a broken community of army families, karaoke/sex workers and displaced men women and children. New Hope Cambodia's mission is to restore hope, dignity and promise to these once proud and prosperous people through education and healthcare.

New Hope Cambodia is a grass roots, hands on and non government organization. “Whilst 'free education for all' is our priority, an important step in breaking the cycle of poverty, we cannot ignore the chronic malnutrition; ill health and appalling living conditions our students and families face every day”.
Today, New Hope, with the assistance of sponsors and volunteers, also provides free medical treatment for up to one hundred residents per day for illnesses such as chronic malnutrition, HIV, hepatitis, typhoid, tuberculosis and dengue fever and supports over 300 families on a food program
- Food supplies and support to 320families
- Baby formula for 100 malnourished babies.
- Education for 1000 students
- Regular classes are held for Mothers on Family Planning, Child care, and Food Hygiene; and delivers awareness of gambling, drug and Child trafficking issues.
