Story

Hey hey hey!
Dzien dobry! (Wersja Polska ponizej)

First of all, thank you for you interest and clicking on this link =)

WHAT: I want to make a difference and skydive (19th of August) for a cause close to my heart. And yes, it maybe an easy task for someone that is not terrified of heights... There are two things I am absolutely scared of: spiders and heights.

WHY: This year I had an amazing chance to visit Australia... yes yes, that country down under full of spiders..! I also had two opportunities to visit the The Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef supports a diversity of life: over 1600 fish species, 215 species of birds, 6 out of 7 marine turtles, 133 species of sharks and ray, 30 species of whales and dolphins. This incredible ecosystem is in danger because of our actions: global climate change and pollution.. This year’s mass bleaching (death of corals), second in severity only to 2016, has spread further south. ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN AND TAKEN NOW! I witness the current state of it and peoples behavior around it. As an Oceanographer, not only it made me angry, frustrated and eventually sad but also made me realise that there needs to be action taken and taken now! WE HAVE USED AND ABUSED OUR ENVIRONMENT LONG ENOUGH! The unbelievable beauty of Australia's nature I saw, the Great Barrier Reef I snorkeled around ... with the level of humans devastation... The experience was breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time.

SO: Skydive is my personal challenge.  I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small to encourage me (climbing a ladder is scary!) and support Reef Check Australia actions and help the environment!!
P.S. NO funds collected for the Reef Check Australia will be used to cover the event cost. I will cover the cost of the skydive with my personal funds.

WHY REEF CHECK AUSTRALIA: As the only charity organisation in Australia (I could find) not only helps to protect the Great Barrier Reef but also sets the community education as priority, which in my eyes is also extremely important.

'Widen your circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its unbelievable beauty. We have one planet, protect it, there is no plan B as there is no planet B..'

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Reef Check Australia.

Thanks so much for your support!
Dag

P.S. With the recent very sad news I will also be raising funds for cancer cause.

Dzien dobry!

Mialam tez dwie okazje, aby odwiedzic Wielka Rafe Koralowa. Wielka Rafa Koralowa wspiera róznorodnosc gatunkowa: ponad 1600 gatunków ryb, 215 gatunków ptaków, 6 z 7 zólwi morskich, 133 gatunków rekinów, 30 gatunków wielorybów i delfinów. MUSIMY PODJAC DZIALANIA, I MUSIMY TO ZROBIC TERAZ! NISZCZYMY NASZE SRODOWISKO WYSTARCZAJACO DLUGO! Niewiarygodne piekno natury Australii, która widzialam, Wielka Rafa Koralowa, wokol której nurkowalam  ... z wplywem dzialalnosci czlowieka ... Doswiadczenie bylo zapierajace dech w piersiach i jednoczesnie lamiace serce.
