Story
Hi everyone,
I'm trekking the Manaslu Circuit in Nepal in 2016 to raise funds to build a school in Nepal. I will be leaving on Thursday 24 March 2016 and returning on Monday 18 April 2016.
The school is in the village of Purano Jhangajoli in the east of Nepal. It was completely destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes, temporary bamboo shelters have been built but this is only a temporary solution and the school needs to be rebuild.
The new school is set to be amazing. The master plan is for the school to be an education "hub" with a focus on applied agricultural and technology education. It will not only deliver physical infrastructure, but also help solve the social and economic challenges of the community.
FONA is a voluntary organisation so 100% of its funds go directly to the projects. Plus, people from the village will be participating in building their school so you will providing employment and incomes for the community. Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference.
