Mary Ann running for Alports
Story
Hello
I am entering the Blackmores Sydney Harbour Bridge Run, and while I will hopefully have fun runnng the 9 km, I was hoping that I would be able to put this to good use and raise some money for the Alports Foundation of Australia. In case you have not heard of this charity, it is a foundation set up by some close friends as they have recently discovered that Alport Syndrone (a hereditary condition affecting kidney function) runs in their family. The money raised by this charity goes directly to establishing and supporting medical research and has alredy produced some positive results. For more information about Alport Syndrome go to: www.alport.org.au
Any small amount donated will make a significant difference and I appreciate your support of me on behalf this worthy charity.
Many thanks
Mary Ann
Alport Foundation of Australia
Alport Syndrome is a genetic kidney disease, mostly affecting boys and young men. It leads to renal failure and also causes deafness and vision problems. The Alport Foundation of Australia is a non-profit organization with DGR status, which is dedicated to supporting families and improving the health outcomes of patients with this genetic kidney disease. Volunteer operated and with few overhead expenses, the Alport Foundation aims to raise awareness of this under-diagnosed disease. Your generous donations are directed to the funding of medical research into treatments and eventually a cure for Alport Syndrome.
