Story
As part of my big Australian Alps walk from Thredbo to Mt MacDonald, 250 kms over 25 days I would like to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This Foundation is dedicated to lifting literacy levels in remote communities. They supply culturally appropriate books to communities that need them, and produce books written and illustrated by indigenous people in the local community, in their own languages. This cause is close to my heart as I’ve seen what a difference it makes when storybook content is relevant, engaging and empowering to indigenous children.
I’ve received terrific support from you my family and friends, including some of you who are joining me for legs. Some have asked if I am raising money for a cause so this is for those of you who would like to share my journey while contributing to indigenous children literacy.
Here’s a short video about the Foundation

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thanks so much for your support!
Indigenous Literacy Foundation
Being able to read opens so many doors. But in very remote Indigenous communities, books are all too scarce and literacy levels are much lower than anywhere else in Australia. Our purpose is to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous families by not only gifting thousands of new culturally appropriate books - with a focus on early literacy and first language - but also by running programs to inspire the communities to tell and publish their own stories.
