Dressember 2014 - IJM

In 2013, Dressember took on new meaning: opposing human trafficking by aligning with International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights organization that works to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. Again this year, those who participate in Dressember are also seeking to raise awareness and funds for IJM's work to continue. The heart of Dressember is freedom-- that every woman, man, and child has the right to be free to live a vibrant life.

Why have I chosen to do this you may ask?  I have three beautiful young daughters (pictured with me), that are loved, enjoy freedom, and are able to be educated, all whilst being able to enjoy their childhood at the same time.  Every child has a right to this - but sadly, many do not get to enjoy this at all or know that they are loved.  It is estimated that there are nearly $36million people caught in modern day slavery.  Please don't get caught up in the number though.  On my recent trip to India, God showed me that we CAN make a difference - ONE person at a time.  So if you choose to participate in Dressember yourself or if you choose to donate to our campaign - think about the ONE man, woman or child that you have given freedom to today - freedom that they didn't have yesterday.  The opportunity to rebuild their lives as IJM's aftercare teams/partners work with each ONE. 

Join us as we choose to make a stand for those that have no voice - those that are caught up in slavery, exploitation, trafficking or oppression.  I cannot stand by and watch/hear of others sufferring when we enjoy a blessed life in Australia.
