2015 Lake Argyle Swim
2015 Lake Argyle Swim
Story
Hi there!
On Saturday May 2 I'm swimming in the Lake Argyle Swim. It's going to be a massive challenge and I'm raising money for Fighting Chance Australia, a Sydney based not-for-profit organisation that enriches the lives of young adults with disabilities by providing opportunities for social participation, employment and skill development.
The distance of the swim is 20 kilometres. Myself (Ryan Armstrong – AKA Fish) and my WA mate Ryan Hopkinson (AKA – Hoppy) are doing it as a duo.
Situated 75 kilometres from the town of Kununurra, Western Australia, Lake Argyle (inland lake) is located 40 kilometres from the Northern Territory Border and covers 980 square kilometres at normal water levels (is about twenty-one times greater in size than Sydney Harbour for a bit of trivia).
Clean freshwater awaits us at a very pleasant 22-26 degrees water temperature – just got to work our way around a few freshwater crocs.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Fighting Chance Australia and you will recieve a receipt via email.
Learn more about the amazing opportunities that Fighting Chance provides on their website: http://fightingchance.org.au/about-us/
Thanks so much for your support!
Ryan
