Running Water
Running Water
Story
We're running various events this year to raise money for the Busabala Road Hospital, in Kampala, Uganda. This hospital is one of the few in Africa that offers all of its services free to the community. This includes maternal healthcare, an AIDS literacy program, mobile medical clinics and surgery facilities. 85% of those who come through the hospital suffer from malaria and waterborne diseases. Patients come from the slum area of Najjanankumbi where there is no running water nor sanitation facilities.
BeyondWater is going to redevelop one of the few water supplies so that people can have clean water to use for cooking, cleaning and washing. This is our biggest project to date but it will literally change the lives of thousands of people.
Beyond Water (Global Development Group - J380)
Each day 5,000 children die because of waterborne diseases. BeyondWater works with local communities to provide tanks, guttering, deep bore wells, latrines and hand washing programs.
These are provided through schools, medical facilities, orphanages and remote communities.
Proud to partner with Global Development Group (ABN: 57 102 400 993), an Australian NGO approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Gifts over $2 with a preference for this approved development project are tax deductible, receipts issued by Go Fundraise on behalf of GDG. Excess funds may be directed to another approved activity.
