Story
Hi folks,
I'm looking for your support and as ever it's for a good cause.
I am writing to you on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House organisation, an organization that helps seriously ill children and their families (e.g. by housing them nearby the hospital) when they need it most. You can find out more about the splendid work they do worldwide at http://www.rmhc.org.au/.
This charity is one that is very close to my heart. My beautiful goddaughter Maisy Kehoe spent the first few weeks of her life in hospital after some complications during labour. The kindness and support extended to both her parents and brother, as well as the surrounding family members, during this horrible period by the staff was magnificent. To be so positive in the face of the hardship and sadness that they encounter on a daily basis is a credit to them and to RMHC as an organisation. While all this occurred on the other side of the world, RMHC do similar amazing work right here in Sydney.
Thankfully Maisy is all better now and is beginning to take her first steps. I will be taking a few (!) steps of my own in her honour by competing in the 2013 Sydney Marathon on September 22nd, my first ever event at that distance, so if you can spare some change then please donate to help all the little Maisys in Sydney :)

Ronald McDonald House Charities
RMHC is an independent, non-profit organisation, that helps seriously ill children and their families when they need it most. We were founded in memory of McDonald's creator, Ray Kroc, who believed in charitable works as a way of putting something back into the community. McDonald's Australia pays all administration and management costs of RMHC and are a generous donor, the rest of the essential funds we require we raise ourselves.
Since we opened our first Ronald McDonald House in 1981 we have helped over 65,000 families and 1 in 8 Australian's have been helped or know someone who has used one of our programs.
