Story
Thank you for helping me reach my Fundraising Target of $3,000 in July - I've now set an additional $1,000 target - making my new "stretch" target $4,000 !!
In October this year I am embarking on a trek to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro in support of the “Cure Cancer Foundation”. Not only is this the highest peak on the African continent; it is also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, rising in breathtaking isolation from the surrounding coastal scrubland – elevation around 900 metres – to an imperious 5,895 metres (19,336 feet).
For me, this will be a monumental physical, mental & emotional challenge - not unlike the challenges faced by cancer sufferers! I need all the motivation and support I can get and your sponsorship will definitely help motivate and spur me along.
I have been one of the lucky ones - I caught my cancer early through advanced early detection. The Cure Cancer Foundation funds research into advances in early detection, treatment, medication and of course, a cure - so I am grateful to the research that has gone before and the research and advances still to come.
My sincere hope is that my family, friends and work colleagues do not have to suffer from cancer in their lives and so I am dedicating my personal challenge to conquering the mountain & reaching my fundraising target of $3000. Every $dollar counts.
Cancer touches all of our lives - we must find a Cure. We owe this to our children - let this be our Legacy to the next generation.
